I am a Chartered Environmentalist with over 25 years of environmental consultancy experience, over this time I have gained an in-depth knowledge of both Environmental and Planning legislation and guidance.
As part of my current position I work with a range of technical specialist including ecologists, acousticians, transport consultants, flood engineers, archaeologist, air quality modellers, landscape architects, arboriculturalists, geotechnical engineering and contaminated land specialist, so I am in an ideal position to provide assistance on a wide range of the environmental issues that impact Harborough today.
I have lived in Harborough for almost twenty years with my wife Izzy and have two lovely girls who both attend Welland Park Academy, other interests include gardening, dog walking, cooking and playing cricket at an incredible poor standard.

Air Quality assessment in Market Harborough
Any one who has lived in Harborough for past 10 years will have noticed an increase on traffic across the town. Increases in urban traffic raise many environmental concerns, the most pressing of these relate to associated reduction in air quality.
We are therefore in the process of reviewing air quality across the town, currently HDC have a single air quality monitoring position for Nitrogen Dioxide in the town, SHt have paid for a further 6 positions, in order to better understand the current baseline levels.
Once this information is available we will look to challenge HDC and publicise the potential effects that new developments will have on the air quality within our town. It is alarming to note that across the country local authorities only react to air quality once maximum guidance levels have been breached, rather than working with all parties to ensure that these breaches do not occur.
Our monitoring so far has shown that air quality in the more congested parts of the town is getting close to the maximum guidance levels, so it is imperative that we start acting now to ensure that the air quality within the town stays at an acceptable level.
