Darren has spent the last 25 years as an Agile software engineer, delivering complex solutions to satisfy business requirements and is currently a Scrum master of a development team. He is married to the beautiful Laura and the proud father of three and so worries about the kind of world his children will inherit.
A keen environmentalist since his teens Darren found Sustainability when he co-founded Transition Town Market Harborough in 2007. Through the Transition movement, and its philosophy of identifying need and developing projects to address that need, Darren co-wrote a Big Lottery expression of interest which eventually lead to an award of £1 million to run the Sustainable Harborough project.
Through this projects 5 year funding period Darren served as a member of its partnership board and also was a director of EdibLE16, until it was taken over by the main producers involved, and of Harborough Energy which he continues to serve on.
Darren is a keen park runner and is training towards his first marathon. In the past he has managed a football team, a charity raft racing team that competed in the CHAR 100 mile raft race from Hay-on-Wye to Chepstow and was player manager for the Leicester Wildcats paintball team.
